More than any other skill, shooting takes practice. Lot's of practice. Fundamentals include form, timing, and mental training.

There are 260 individual basketball drills in this category.

1 Minute Shooting

Stand at the elbow of the free throw line and slide back and forth shooting with choice of form. 3 point shooters can shoot from 3 point arc.

Two chairs

This is a great drill that requires a ball and two chairs.

Bump

You need two basketballs. Line up behind the freethrow line and the first person shoots the ball. Then 2nd person shoots after. If the 1st person made it then they give the next person the ball that doesn’t have in line and get in the back. If a person shoots misses and the other person made it before that person makes it then they get out. If you miss you get your rebound and try to get it in before the person after you. Last person still in wins.

King of the Court

One person is at the foul line, while the other is at the baseline under the goal the first person is shooting at. The person on the baseline rolls the ball to the person on the foul line. When the shooter gets the ball they try to shoot the ball before the roller gets on you and guards you, or you can dribble a maximum of three times. If the shooter makes it, the next person in line on the baseline takes the rollers job and does what he did, but if the shooter misses it, the roller takes his place. When all the people have had a turn to shoot, the person who made it the most amount of times wins.

3 point drill

Run to half, come back (three point line) take a three and repeat.

100 Shots

A great, easy and fun way to work your way up to being the best shooter on the team.
